The Perfect Christmas Gift Ideas for 2023 - Blog Post

Black Friday has passed and Cyber Monday is over, but you probably haven’t checked everyone completely off your list. In fact, you can still find the perfect Christmas gift ideas here.

While I don’t love the overly consumerist ways of American culture, I still adore giving to others and asking for some things too. I put together some items from my own list, as well as some items I am gifting others this year. Here is my roundup of Christmas gift ideas.

Disclosure: Some of the links used in this blog post are affiliate links, which means I may receive a tiny bit of compensation if you purchase something. My views are entirely my own and I would not recommend something Iโ€™m not willing to purchase myself.

1. Cozy, Self-Care Items

Happy Face Slippers with Memory Foam in “Cream” | Britten & Baileyโ€™s Candle (Scent No. 5) | Good Mood Gel Moisturizer | Anthropologie Reed Diffuser | Oversized Boyfriend Tunic Sweatshirt for Women in โ€œWoodroseโ€ | Lavender Fleece Blanket

I don’t think you can ever go wrong with gifting pajamas or really any other relaxation gift. According to the American Psychology Association, adults between 18 and 34 reported “the highest rate of mental illnesses at 50% in 2023.” (Oh, hi, that’s me. I’m in that range.) In other words, if you’re gifting someone something and they’re in that range, there’s a 50/50 chance they could use some relaxing!

There are lots of happy face slippers on Amazon, but I really liked that these ones were in a “Cream” color. While cream shows dirt, white shows it even faster. I think the cream color is just a touch nicer.

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I absolutely adore Britten & Bailey’s. When I lived in Dallas, I met the founder, Tiffany, who was still starting out. This was back in 2019! Since then, I’ve used her candles and diffusers. They are excellent in every single way you want a candle to be. They burn evenly and smell great until the very end, plus they are free of phthalates, pesticides, parabens, and sulfates. Yes, you can get candles for cheap at HomeGoods and I love those too, but these are fantastic quality for a bargain price.

When it comes to my face, I can be quite picky about how it feels. The Good Mood Gel Moisturizer is the perfect blend of moisturizing while still feeling light. I usually dislike the heavier feel that some oils or thicker moisturizers can feel on your skin.

Anthropologie is my favorite. For the women in your life, it’s hard to get a bad gift. Although my SIL mentioned that “this store screams Becca,” so take my thoughts as you will … I love the Volcano scent. Plus, diffusers are awesome gifts because who doesn’t like a nice smelling house?!

This is the perfect sweater to go over leggings. I have one already, but I put a couple more colors on my Christmas list this year. I also gifted these to a couple people I knew would love them as well. Basically, they’re the best. The side slit adds a touch of femininity to an otherwise basic sweater. It’s easy to dress up or down with a necklace or earrings. It covers your butt, which I love if I’m wearing leggings. Have I convinced you yet? Seriously, go get one for you and a friend!

Finally, this beautiful lavender blanket is affordable, but has a chic design. I love a giant blanket to have on the couch or use on the bed for cold nights. This is perfect for wanting something luxurious without paying $100+ for a brand name. This is on my list! You can never have too many blankets …

2. Toddler Christmas Gifts

Floral Bunny Slippers | Glitter Magnets A-Z + 0-9 | Toddler Heart Sweater | Dyson Vacuum for Toddler | Frozen Little People Set with Anna and Elsa

I actually bought these pink bunny slippers for my daughter’s birthday in November, but they’d make a great little gift for a toddler, especially during this cooler season! In the Bay Area, we’re reaching 30s at night and let me tell you — IT’S FRIGID. I’m aware it’s not snowing, but by Californian standards, it’s cold.

For my daughter, I wanted to get her a set of magnets. These colorful Etsy magnets are so fun! They went on her Christmas list.

When it comes to toddler clothes, you can never have too many cute and comfy pieces. This heart sweater is adorable.

This Dyson vacuum actually works! The Dyson vacuum for toddlers actually works just like my vacuum. So it checks the Montessori vibes and helps mom clean, making it one of the best Christmas gift ideas for a toddler in my opinion. It’s a two for one gift! Amazing.

Lastly, what little girl’s Christmas list is complete without something related to Frozen?! This Frozen Little People Set with Anna and Elsa is super cute and it would be easy to transport for a trip.

3. Gifts for the Guy that has Everything

Cocktail Smoker Kit | Auto Face Tracking Camera Phone Holder | Stanley Mug

Read: basically all of the men in my life. Thinking of Christmas gift ideas for them are hard. My husband, my dad, my FIL, my brother, etc. really don’t have anything they need, but they also aren’t great at coming up with recommendations outside of their “normal” suggestions. It’s hard for them to think of anything they want. For once, I feel like I got semi-creative and came up with some decent ideas!

First, this Cocktail Smoker Kit sounds so cool. Not only is it good for drinks, but it’s also great for charcuterie boards! For the social ones in your life, especially if they like to host and they don’t have something like this, it’s a no-brainer. I’m excited to gift this one!

For the entrepreneur in your life who films themselves as part of their job, this face-tracking, phone holding camera stand seems super helpful! I think it shows some thought into their daily routine and how to improve it.

Then, for the simple guy who really doesn’t need much except his cup of coffee in the morning, I think this Stanley mug will be a great gift. Apparently, after someone’s car was completely destroyed, their Stanley cup was still intact, ice water and everything! Plus, I heard the Stanley company purchased not only a new tumbler, but a new car for them too! Anyways, great products and company to support.

4. Thoughtful Christmas Gifts

Custom Name Necklace | Initial Heart Necklace

Personalized necklaces is one of the most special Christmas gift ideas! I actually ordered something that blends these two styles since they’re from the same Etsy creator. You can order this custom name necklace with the heart flair from this initial heart necklace. I have orders from this seller before (like these minimalist gold hoops). I wear my gold hoops at least once a week and they look as good as the day I got them. Highly recommend!

5. Gifts for Busy Moms

Tinted Vegan Lip Butter | Eau de Parfum Discovery Set by Maison Louis Marie | Bottega Dupes

When it comes to gifts for busy mom, please refer to the first section on relaxation! Something I’ve learned as a mom is that there is nobody in the world more productive than a mother. I thought I was busy before kids — and I was working 50+ hour weeks plus commuting, so that’s still quite busy! — but not to the same extent. Motherhood is all-consuming!

There is no “time off” from being mom. You’ve probably seen reels talking about how moms forget to shower. (I mean, I could never, but hey I only have one kid currently.) As a full time working mom — and SAHMs are just as busy! — I love items that are quick, easy, and still make me feel like me at the end of the day. I’ve always liked fashion, but I also love comfort.

Ultimately, in an effort to streamline my life, I like to simplify my go-to options and feel put together quickly. These are some great products to do that.

Recently, I have been wanting to try a tinted lip balm and came across this brand. I’ve had it a couple weeks or so now and really like it. It’s enough to add some shine, but not sticky like lip gloss which bothers me. It also adds some color. I would say it enhances my natural lip color rather than adding a new shade, so it’s really nice for days without makeup where I just want to feel a little more put together. Whether someone wears a lot of makeup or is super minimal, I think it’s one of several Christmas gift ideas that can’t go wrong.

Moms are busy. Finding time to peruse the perfume aisles with the free time you have is challenging. When you’re chasing a toddler at Ulta or Sephora, it can take away the concentration needed to see if you like it. Also, perfume smells different on various people due to your natural scent. With that said, finding the right perfume is not just about purchasing a nice scent, but about actually wearing it too. People love to smell good and they love to be complimented on it too. (“You smell good. What are you wearing?!”)

I discovered Maison Louis Marie while trying to find a cleaner brand. They have a long heritage in the perfume business, use a beetroot base (which is supposed to be better for you), and apparently their No. 4 scent smells very similar to Santal 33 by Le Labo. (For reference, Santal 33 is over $300 depending on the size you get!) Maison Louis Marie is a French brand with production in the U.S. I love the French brand aspect as France is generally known to be one of the best — if not the most highly regarded — country to make perfumes. Regardless of the brand, discovery kits of perfume is one of many fun Christmas gift ideas.

They also make great gifts for travel as well because they’re easy to toss in your bag. I’ve always liked taking one for trips and then that scent becomes part of your trip memory too. Anyways, I love this idea for multiple reasons! The only exception is with little babies like newborns to probably stay away from any type of perfume gift.

Looking for more Christmas gift ideas for less? These Bottega dupes! The original small ones by Bottega Veneta retail for over $800. Apparently, these dupes that are less than $15, but they are supposedly quite good. As a mom, I love earrings to make me feel more put together. My hair may not be styled and I might be wearing a sweatshirt, but I have some cute earrings and a nice perfume on to elevate my outfit, along with a tinted lip. Really, these Christmas gift ideas could be for anyone who just wants to look and feel cute quickly!

6. Experience Gifts

Marriott Hotel

My husband and I rarely get each other gifts for Christmas. We got married young and always said we’d prefer an experience over gifts. If we do any gift, it’s something small and something we just thought the other might enjoy. Pre-kids, we would go on a trip.

Let’s not lie — inflation is crazy and kids are expensive though. This year, we’ll probably do a night away — which we never treat ourselves to — and let the grandparents take our daughter for the night. For Christmas gift ideas, I think a Marriott or Hyatt gift card could be nice. I also think a date night gift is nice for a couple, such as movie tickets, local winery tasting, or couples massages. If you want to get more personalized, something like a cool cooking class in San Francisco might be fun.

I love the idea of experiences as it creates fun memories in the process! I read someone gifted a Hulu subscription for the year, which could easily be paired with microwaveable popcorn, a bottle of wine or their favorite sodas, and more. You can definitely get creative with experience Christmas gift ideas!

7. Practical Gift Ideas

Keurig Single Serve K-Cup Pod in “Sage” | Reusable Stainless Steel Coffee Pods | Hotel Worthy Belgian Waffle Maker | DIY Cold Stone Scoopers

Getting someone something they truly need is never a bad idea. If they really need money towards something practical, they’ll forever be thankful and remember you got them something they really needed in the moment. With that said, I think there are still some fun practical gifts.

The Keurig K-Express Essentials Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker in “Sage” with these stainless steel reusable cups is on my list. I actually love my current coffee maker, but with a second kid on the way, I basically want as little dishes as possible and to streamline my life where I can.

This coffee machine makes cleanup super easy because I basically just need to clean the stainless steel pod, which is much easier than the reusable filter, pot, and lid. I like the idea of the reusable pod so I can continue getting my Peet’s coffee at Costco and not spend a fortune on pods. (It’s also more eco-friendly.) This Keurig is cute and not a bad price too, so it’s really a win no matter how you look at it. And since I’ll use it daily if not more, it’s certainly practical.

Is a Belgian waffle maker really practical? I’d say yes and here’s why. I got a mini waffle maker that makes waffles in the shape of a heart. It’s adorable and it works great, especially for minimal cleaning afterwards. The problem, however, is making a normal size batch and trying to heat them all in mini waffle maker. It literally took me nearly two hours to do them all and I thought, “This is ridiculous. What am I doing? It’s time to get a real waffle maker.” Christmas gift ideas can be fun and practical!

For the Cold Stone lover in your life — get some Cold Stone scoopers! You could pair it with a Cold Stone giftcard to get a pint of your favorite flavor, then gift it with the candies they love, and voila! Cold Stone at home!
